Aida Omidvar decided to add real estate agent to her professional accomplishments after years as an interior designer and with encouragement from her friend and agent who helped sell her house. As an interior designer, it was a complementary addition to the work she was already doing, so she decided to give it a try. “It was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life,” Aida said. “Working with people has always been my passion and putting a smile on their face, my motivation.”

As an established interior designer and founder/CEO of Dream Luxury Properties/Design, Aida continued her interior design business while also achieving award-winning status with her real estate efforts at RE/MAX Dream Properties in Northville. “Sometimes it’s exhausting since both jobs are time-consuming, but I love what I’m doing, and I never get bored,” Aida said.

Aida’s enthusiastic personality and drive for perfection are attributes that have made her successful. “I became a real estate agent because meeting people and making new friends align perfectly with my personality,” she said. “I like to educate buyers and sellers about the process, so they fully understand everything that’s going on and I can answer any questions. Plus, I love being my own boss, and when I set my mind to something, I have to nail it.”

The fast pace of every workday and the diversity in each transaction is a perfect match for how Aida approaches her business. “I love that no two days are the same,” Aida shared. “If you know me, then you know I can’t sit still; I welcome the learning, the experiences and the challenges of the real estate industry.”

Aida has been in the 100% club for three of her four years in real estate. She has a career volume of over $21 million and was awarded rookie of the year her first year in the business. She is a multi-million-dollar producer, a mega-million agent, a mega-million producer and executive agent. She has a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in interior architecture and design.

It is not uncommon for Aida to have her phone with her at all times. In fact, she often finds herself connected to her work at all hours of the day. “It can be a challenge sometimes to ‘turn off’ my work,” Aida confided. “I put my clients’ needs before my own, but I wouldn’t have it any other way — it’s how I operate and how I’ve established some very close relationships.”

Aida is proud of the friendships she has formed over the years. Beyond the purchase of a home — a milestone for many — Aida’s clients have included her in other major life events. “Thanks to real estate, my social life is great,” laughed Aida. “My clients have invited me to their weddings, birthdays, baby showers, house warmings and other gatherings. To me, that’s what life is all about!”

When Aida is not selling homes, remodeling houses, or socializing with her clients and friends, she can be found playing tennis, doing yoga or Pilates, or riding her bike. She has two boys. Arshia, who is studying pre-med at Central Michigan University and has a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. He is a swimmer and has a caring personality. Bardia, who has a heart of gold, is in middle school and loves playing basketball, skiing, and guitar.

Aida is active with the Omid Foundation, an organization that supports disadvantaged young women in the United States, U.K., Canada and Greece. Their efforts focus on strengthening the social, emotional and economic competencies of young women by providing them a sense of self-worth and opportunities through education, training and self-empowerment. Recently, Aida helped raise money in Michigan to send two girls to a university to gain an education and independence where it otherwise would not have been possible.

To Aida, success is having self-satisfaction knowing she tried to do her best. “I believe a satisfied life is better than what some would call a ‘successful’ life because success is measured by others, but satisfaction is measured by your own soul.”

Aida is best known for her ability to make others feel comfortable and welcomed. “Kindness is like coffee,” Aida explained. “It awakens your spirit and improves your day. I like to fill my cup with both!”

While Aida loves the work she does, it is truly the people she interacts with that bring her the greatest joy. “You can only become truly accomplished when you’re doing something you love,” she said. “Money shouldn’t be the goal; instead, pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.”
