Start with a prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to be with you and to help you understand God's Message for you. As you read the scripture, write down some key words that stand out to you and talk to your family about why these words are speaking to you. We'd love to hear how your study goes. So be sure to share with your Life Group Leaders.

Why does the genealogy start with Abraham? What is the significance of Abraham?

Is there any part of your life where you are like Joseph? What could you learn from this passage to encourage you? There was a prophecy and promise that was made and become true (vs 22/23). What things has God promised for you that have happened for you and your family? Why do you think it is important that christians believe that Mary was a virgin. (The New Testament only mentions the special birth clearly twice.)
