This year our reputation sale features 65 AQHA and APHA broodmares, 2016 foals and prospects. We made the very difficult decision to disperse our broodmares this year; these mares have looked after us very well and have been the backbone of what is perhaps one of the best annual foal production sales on the prairies. We take a lot of pride in the horses that we raise and quality and customer satisfaction has always been number one. As you will read in the footnotes, we purchased our seed stock from some of the very best, reputable and longest standing breeders in the business. Take this opportunity to select some top quality seed stock from some of the finest and most diverse bloodlines that Saskatchewan has to offer. The search ended in the fall of 2013 when we purchased Boon from the Davis Ranch in Utah. His sire, Autumnator, is by the great Smart Little Lena, who earned $743,275 in cutting. Autumnator’s dam is one of the greatest broodmares of all time, Autumn Boon, who earned $244,470.00 in the NCHA. Boon’s proven predigree with the likes of Smart Little Lena, Shining Spark, Hollywood Dunnit and Dual Pep will be an assett to our breeding program. He has a big hip, pretty head and neck and a great mind. We are very impressed with the first foal crop from Boon. They are very eye appealing and athletic. There are five foals sired by him in the sale and nine mares bred to him.

Dry Doc Freedom’s get have earned $68,000+ in reining and cutting as well as 119.5 AQHA points. Our senior AQHA herdsire, Cowboy is bred to rein and work with the best of them. Cowboy stands 14.3 hh and weighs 1200 lbs. We have sold many of his offspring in this sale, from foals up to broke horses and they have always been some of our high sellers. His foals have lots of size and substance to them. We have also bred Cowboy to some of our APHA mares and have gotten a few colored paints out of him. His daughters make great broodmares as well. There are four of his foals in the sale, four mares bred to him and two broodmares sired by him.

Shine’s dam is a daughter of Cooke County Etc, a buckskin cutting horse who stood 16.2 HH, so there is size in his background. Cooke County’s offspring have earned over $69,000. Shine’s sire, Durable Shine, has won over $10,000 in the reining pen and is a son of Shining Spark, a leading NRCHA and NRHA sire whose offspring have earned more than $7.3 million and Shining Leo County 32,881 AQHA points. Shine has added size, disposition and colour as well as reining and cowhorse pedigree. He is also working very well when crossed on our paint mares. There are four foals in the sale sired by Shine and eight mares bred to him.

He is also a Lifetime Leading Sire of APHA Champions, Versatility Award Winners and All Around Champions. On his dam’s side of the pedigree, Far Out And Foxy, is an own daughter of Far Ute El Rey, which is a bloodline we have used in our program with a lot of success. Far Ute El Rey had 22 Halter Points and 12 Performance points. Far Out Dixon has disposition and athletic ability to spare and he is passing this on to his offspring. He sired our high seller in 2011 and our high selling foal in 2012. Lot 30A is the only Far Out Dixon foal in the sale this year. There are two mares bred to him as well.

The dam is the first black overo we had ever raised, sired by Eternal Ascent, the first black overo stallion we owned. We purchased him from Brodsky’s at Saskatoon in 1995. His grandsire, Eternal Pay Day, was one of the first Paint stallions to come to Saskatchewan. Splash has produced either blacks or buckskins. But that could change as she is bred to Blue Boon Dunnit for 2017.

Must talk to Ken or Chris one week prior to the sale for approval. • Any agreements are between the buyer and the seller only. • Foals will not be weaned until 4 months of age. • All broodmares will be pregnancy tested. Because this is a dispersal sale these will be no LFG on any of the broodmares. • We will assist with transportation to several central points if required. • Horses become the buyers risk and responsibility after they are sold. • All foals will be registered by Flying S Ranch • We would like the mares and foals to stay at the ranch until September 15. Anyone that purchases a broodmare and her foal can take them on sale day if they desire. The yearlings and any mares without foals can be picked up on sale day. • All persons attending the sale do so at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co. Ltd. is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does T Bar C Cattle Co. Ltd. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties and any legal action that may in exceptional cases be taken, must be between the buyer and the seller.
