ABOUT US
NEYCO Pty Ltd was founded in 2020 with a vision to develop a world class team to establish itself as an industry leader, and to provide top quality product lines.
We are specialists in lifting, rigging & transport with over 50 combined years of direct expertise in these industries. We are there every step of the way to ensure our clients get the job done.
OVERVIEW
ABOUT US | 05
NEYCO is an Australian owned and operated family business, founded by Declan and Garry Kearney during the pandemic in 2020. Declan and Garry started their working relationship together through an engineering consultancy business, where they absorbed significant industry experience across the globe. The consultancy group specialised in heavy lift, constructability, modularisation, and logistics. Although the father-son duo enjoyed this aspect of the industry, they decided to shift their focus closer to home. The idea of NEYCO was born. Our firm belief was that by combining practical and innovative thinking, with our deep industry knowledge, we could offer our clients truly independent solutions to their challenges. We can help ‘shape’ our client’s strategies, by providing the right equipment to get the job done. Our industry is high risk and every job, “large or small”, presents its challenges. We found that big nationwide brands were not offering the customer service and intrinsic detail that these products and services require. We are not just any other lifting house that is flooding the Australian market, we knew we had to find a niche and disrupt the industry with something unique. Our business model of developing all equipment associated with the crane industry, has opened avenues into other sectors, and we are now supplying some of the largest projects across the country.
Although our headquarters is based in Brisbane QLD, NEYCO services its clients all across Australia. Whether it’s a pallet of rigging gear heading to a local contractor, or a full trailer load of hardwood mats heading to an LNG plant in Western Australia, we make it a priority to get the equipment to our clients as soon as possible. Our business focal point is to provide you with our quality equipment, valuable expertise, and unrivalled customer service. This all would not be possible without our world leading innovators and suppliers.

UHMWPE CRIBBING BLOCKS When evaluating outrigger pads, crane mats and cribbing blocks, it is important to understand how strength and stiffness attributes of different materials and design affect the safety and performance of the products in this application. Selecting the right combination of strength and stiffness to support your equipment safely and properly is a critical design. Products used in this application must be both strong, to prevent physical failure, and rigid, to resist functional failure. Why is the difference between strength and stiffness important to proper product selection? The outrigger pad or crane mat must spread the load from the crane over a large enough area so that the bearing pressure to the ground surface is acceptable whilst also providing stiffness support to the crane so it will not go out of level. For purposes of the following discussion strength and stiffness are defined as follows: Strength: the ability of the material to support a load without breaking (physical failure) Stiffness: the ability of the material to resist bending/deflection (functional failure)
Strength and stiffness relationships
Stronger does not mean stiffer. An outrigger pad may have enough strength to not break, however, this same pad may not be stiff enough to effectively distribute load to the ground due to excessive deflection. The ability of an outrigger pad to spread load is based on the stiffness of the pads relative to the stiffness of the ground/soil. If the pad is not rigid enough, the load will be concentrated on a smaller area on the pad. This results in increased ground bearing pressure (GBP) which will cause more pad deformation and could lead to both functional and physical failures.
Composite vs Hardwood The strength and stiffness of an outrigger pad will depend on the material and the thickness. Material strengths and stiffness properties are generally understood through the use of standardized material testing and analysis. With the correct composite material, it is stronger than wood, where most wood is stiffer than plastic. Because wood is not as strong as these composite materials, thickness must be increased to not physically fail. Because the composite materials are not as stiff as wood, thickness must be increased to distribute load and resist deflection more effectively. Properly designed composite outrigger pads can significantly support higher loads without risk of breaking (physical failure). Whereas hardwoods are generally stiffer than composite pads of the same thickness. Due to higher stiffness and lower strength, hardwood outrigger pads are more susceptible to breaking under heavy loads.
MATTING SOLUTIONS | 17
UHMWPE CRIBBING BLOCKS
Hardwood is an organic material and brings with it plenty of exposure. The properties and performance of hardwood outrigger pads change as it becomes exposed to the environment, moisture, chemicals, and excessive usage. Wood begins to deteriorate and decay, and with continued use under load distribution pressure, it heightens the safety risk of both operators and equipment. Polyethylene plastics used in making outrigger pads are engineered materials and should not be susceptible to environmental exposure, moisture, chemicals, and proper usage. These composite materials and pads do not deteriorate or decay over time and do not fatigue from loading when used within rated guidelines and conditions of use, provided by us at System Rigging.

G120 WORKLING LOAD LIMIT
G120 ALLOY CHAIN Currently, there are only two manufacturers globally that manufacture Grade 120 lifting chain - RUD is manufactured in Germany, and pewag is manufactured in Austria. Although this catalogue showcases the pewag products, we can offer all G120 products from both European manufacturers.
Grade 120 has an increased working load limit of at least 50% compared to Grade 80, and 20% compared to Grade 100, and is manufactured in compliance with PAS 1061. A reduction of the chain dimension and thus also the weight of the chain sling is possible in almost any application. This highperformance chain comes with BG approval in G120, and also offers added resistance against edge loading thanks to its profile sections. Benefits of G120: •
Higher bending resistance: The moment of inertia that is crucial for the properties of the chain is up to 6% higher in profile chain than in a round-link chain with the same cross section. For the user, this results in a higher degree of safety in case of edge-loading.
•
Higher working load limits compared to G80 and G100, means that it is almost always possible to use a chain sling that is smaller by one nominal size, saving weight.

PEWAG AGWP LOAD DISTRIBUTOR The AGWP load distributor is the perfect partner for the assembly of II- and IV-leg chain slings using Connex connecting links. It fullfils all the requirements of standard load distributors as well as ensuring optimised longitudinal compensation. The significantly improved load allows for a higher working load limit (min. 30% with equal dimensions) as all legs of the chain sling are placed under load. . In IV-leg chain slings, the AGWP makes it possible to consider all four chains as load-bearing. If two II-leg chain slings are used and one of them is equipped with a load distributor, this system may also be used as a IV-leg chain sling with four load-bearing legs

46 | SYNTHETIC SLINGS
ROUND SLINGS SLING PROTECTION Lifting slings are often used when moving heavy equipment during rigging projects. However, these slings can easily become damaged, especially with inproper use. When lifting slings are damaged, the load is at risk of being damaged as well. Sling protection aims to solve this problem. SpanSet offers a solution with high performance edge protection from its selection of NoCut ® products. NoCut ® sleeve is a woven, protective, high performance sleeve for round slings and flat slings, which is characterised by particularly high cut and abrasion resistance. The NoCut ® sleeve is woven from HMPE high performance fibres, and offers the best protection for your textile lifting gear against cuts made by sharp edged loads. Rotating and turning loads is also no problem for NoCut ® sleeves, and the special rib structure of the sleeve design makes it easier for the lifting gear to slide inside the sleeve. NoCut ® sleeves protect the lifting sling even when a relative cutting motion takes place, which can occur when a load is raised. The NoCut ®sleeve is supplied ready-to-use with trimmed cut edges. Protective sleeves are offered with lengths of 250mm increments and widths of 30mm to 300mm as standard.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE SYNTHETICS | 51
Make light work of heavy loads with Dyneema ® fibre General-purpose lifting slings made with Dyneema ® are uniquely strong - but there’s much more to it than that. Dyneema ® fibre is carefully engineered to overcome the weaknesses of generic synthetic slings. •
1/3 Weight of Polyester
•
No Moisture Adsorption
•
Floats in Water
•
Excellent Load Control
Dyneema ® fibre is manufactured from high modulus polyethylene (HMPE), which is lighter than steel and other commonly used synthetics at the same breaking strength, making Dyneema ®-based slings both safer and easier to handle - with no compromise on performance. Beyond providing safer, more comfortable handling for construction professionals, lifting slings made with Dyneema ® fibre can result in considerable efficiency benefits for operators. Not only do their superior ergonomics mean teams can work faster on the ground - keeping tight timelines on track - but Dyneema ® fibres also give lifting slings a longer reliable service life than other synthetics and steel. Durable Dyneema ®-based slings need less maintenance and replacement than alternatives, so you know you’re choosing the most cost-efficient solution for your business.

MODULAR SPREADER BEAMS
NEYCO modular spreader beams deliver a versatile and cost-effective solution for your lifting requirements. We strive to achieve lighter weight and higher capacities than the competition, using high grade Australian Steel. A modular spreader beam consists of interchangeable components, which results in plenty of opportunity for different configurations and reusability. We stock our range of 34t - 110t with spans up to 18.5m, however, we can offer bespoke solutions and larger capacities and spans upon request. Every SR modular beam system consists of a pair of End Units and a pair of Drop Links, with interchangeable spacers that are bolted between the End Units to either lengthen or shorten the beam to suit the requirements of your lift. Our modular spreader beams are very easily transported, as the modular components break down into 0.5m, 1m, 2m and 4m lengths. Alternatively, we can assemble the spreader beams and transport accordingly, so that they are ready to be used on site as soon as they are delivered. Every component of the SR modular system goes through vigorous engineering and testing. Our clients are provided with material certification, NDT inspections, certificates of conformity, and a conditions of use reports Australian Compliance AS 4991-2004: Lifting Devices

70 | WIRE ROPE & FITTINGS
WIRE ROPE & FITTINGS
Our range includes high performance wire ropes suited for the tough Australian conditions
WIRE ROPE
WIRE ROPE & FITTINGS | 71
A wire rope is a combination of wires and strands in a helical formation around a central core. The main components of wire rope are the core and the outside strands. The direction and arrangement of the strands and how they are laid relative to the direction of the rope, imparts special characteristics to the performance of the wire rope for various applications. MAIN COMPONENTS OF WIRE ROPE Core: A rope core serves as a foundation for the strands, it keeps the rope round and the strands properly positioned during operation. The choice of core will have an effect upon the rope’s performance. Wires: The wires are the building blocks of wire ropes and are made up of high carbon steel. Strand: Each individual wire is arranged around a central wire to form a wire strand.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS •
Wire rope will fail if worn out, shock loaded, overloaded, misused, damaged, improperly maintained or abused
•
Always inspect wire rope for wear, damage or abuse before use
•
Never use a wire rope which is worn out, damaged, corroded or abused
•
Never overload or shock load a wire rope
•
Use the correct design factor for application
•
Inform yourself: Read and understand the machinery manufacturers handbook and guidance from the wire rope manufacturer
•
Refer to applicable directives, regulations, standards and codes concern inspection, examination and rope discard criteria
72 | WIRE ROPE & FITTINGS
WIRE ROPE
CONSTRUCTION The actual range of wire rope constructions is wide and varied due to many different applications. In general, a large number of small size wires and strands produce a flexible rope with good resistance to bending fatigue. These ropes are ideal for ‘running’or moving ropes such as winches and hoist type applications when the wire ropes run through sheaves. Examples of this would be 6X41 or 8X36. A fewer number of thicker wires and strands produce a less flexible rope with good resistance to abrasion (wear) and corrosion. These are ideal for scraper, stays and static type applications. The rope construction is also important for tensile load (static, live or shock) abrasive wear, crushing, corrosion and rotation. Examples of this type would be 6X19 or 6X7.
MAIN TYPES OF WIRE ROPE CORE:
Fibre Core (FC)
Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC)
Wire Strand Core (WSC)
Polypropylene or natural fibres are used as the core. Excellent flexibility and lubricant retention
A small wire rope is used as the core. Excellent crush and distortion resistance with longer fatigue life and higher breaking strength
A single strand is used as the core. Simple and cost effective - suitable for small diameter rope
Ropes are referred to by diameter. The correct way to measure wire rope is shown below:

WIRE ROPE & FITTINGS | 83
SUPERFLEX Manufactured by Andromeda Industries
Superflex slings are made from a high tensile plaited wire rope in a four by three sinnet configuration. Superflex slings are extremely flexible and have excellent applications in general lifting and slinging, particularly where choking of the load is required. The flexible nature of Superflex ensures a friction grip that is superior to standard wire rope slings in most applications. Benefits of Superflex •
The sling is entirely made of steel. Thus it can be used in maritime and caustic environments such as found in smelters, salt water and similar
•
The ferrule is 18% smaller in diamater than equivalent aluminium
•
The tapered end neatly covers the wire ends, eliminating the main hazard in using slings
•
Four inspection holes provide the capability to see the wire ends from any side of the ferrule, as per the requirements of AS 1666
•
The ferrule is also tapered at the working end, and chamfered at the throat end, thus providing a sling that has no sharp edges to snap in tight places
•
The double swage process delivers an extremely secure termination as well as high resultant strength.

These WLL figure are derived in accordance with AS 1666.1 Notes on these calculations: to convert the lift MBF of Superflex cable in kNs to WLL of a Superflex sling in tonne (1000kgsf) made from that assembly as required by AS 1666.1 (the all up divisor = 51.5). This provides the WLL for a sling in single fall configuration, and from this all the other configurations are calculated.

Notes on the WLL figures for strops The derivation of the WLL for Superflex Strops is based on the WLL for single fall Superflex Slings. For a strop terminated one end only, the factor is 1.5 x the WLL for a single fall sling. For a strop terminated at both ends, the factor is 2.0 x the WLL for a single fall sling.

SHACKLES A shackle is used for interconnecting components in lifting, tensioning and staying systems. A shackle consists of a body, a removable pin and a locking device (where applicable) These are available in rated and no-rated types. Rated shackles are suitable for lifting and conform to AS 2741 or relevant international standards. Non-rated shackles are not approved for lifting and may include commercial, stainless steel, DIN Grade or shackles that are designed for use for marine/mooring applications.
Shackles consist of two main parts: Shackle Body The body can be Bow type (also known as Anchor type) or Dee type (also known as Chain type) The diameter of the material used to manufacture the body determines the nominal shackle size. Shackle Pin The most common types are Screw Pin or Safety (Bolt type) Pin shackles. The different combinations of bodies and pins results in four main types of shackles and your choice for the application will depend on the type of lifting or pulling operation being undertaken. •
Screw Pin Bow Shackles: used in temporary, multiple (max 60° angle) and single attachment point applications
•
Screw Pin Dee Shackles: used in temporary, single attachment point applications
•
Safety Pin Bow Shackles: used in semi-permanent, multiple (max 60° angle) and single attachment point applications
•
Safety Pin Dee Shackles: used in semi-permanent, single attachment point applications.

SHACKLES
GREEN PIN WIDE BODY SLING SAVER The Green Pin Sling Shackle is a high load capacity bow shackle with a safety bolt and a fixed nut. The Sling Shackle is an excellent choice for heavy lifting projects due to the shape of the shackle crown. Compared to the standard Green Pin Heavy Duty Shackles, Sling Shackles have an increased bow radius to improve your slings’ resistance to wear and tear, and enable you to use a lighter wire rope to lift the same heavy load. •
Material: bow and pin high tensile steel, Grade 8, quenched and tempered
•
Safety Factor: MBL equals 5 x WLL
•
Finish: Hot dipped galvanised
•
Temperature Range: -20°C up to +200°C
•
Certification: Green Pin shackles can be supplied with a works certificate, material certificate, manufacturer test certificate and/or EC Declaration of Conformity

WELDED LIFTING POINTS pewag AWHW WELD-ON HOOK This high-strength hook is particularly well suited for welding onto excavator bucket, spreader beams etc. Its outstanding features include a die-forged, tempered safety catch, making it extrarobust. As the safety catch locks into the tip of the hook, it provides excellent protection against lateral shifting. The product is manufactured according to EN 1677-1 with a higher load capacity and comes with full operating and welding instructions. A CE-marking further emphasises the superior quality of this product.

CONCRETE CLUTCHES Concrete Clutches have been designed so that they cannot spontaneously disengage whilst the system is under load at any orientation, provided they are correctly connected to the head of the correct anchor in the recess. When the lift is complete and the load released, the clutch is quickly and simply disengaged. •
