Important Tip: We encourage students to attend back-to-back classes on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Why do this? Because several recent studies have shown that compared to taking just one yoga class, taking two yoga classes on back-to-back days increases the physical and mental benefits of yoga exponentially. That’s why people go to expensive yoga retreats. And we offer all students this extra class free!
Class cancellations: Any in-person class canceled due to winter storms or closing of the Recreation Center will be held virtually via Zoom. If mask mandates are once again necessary, all classes will be held virtually.
Our classes have a specific theme each month:
December: As the days grow shorter and darker, learn the yoga way to light your own fire and celebrate the Winter Solstice with us. January: Stay healthy learning and practicing the yoga comprehensive system for physical health and mental well-being. February: Ward off the winter doldrums by learning the power of your heart to uplift your mood and boost your immune system. March: Shake off the heaviness and inertia of winter and get ready for spring. These classes will be energetic and invigorating, but not difficult.
SPECIAL CLASS!
Saturday Morning Virtual Fusion Yoga Fusion Yoga is the name coined for combining and blending different forms of yoga. These 90-minute virtual classes grew out of the very popular chair yoga classes Sydnie offered last year. But it now has evolved into much more. These classes are appropriate for all levels of ability and flexibility. The classes will be on 10 Saturday mornings during the winter months. Bonus! Students can register for one class at a time for just $8. These classes are a tune-up for your health and well being and a great way to start your winter weekends. The classes will combine easy, unbelievably great stretches from a chair; Kripalu breathing practices; standing leg strengthening and balancing movements using a chair for support if necessary; gentle yin yoga postures to stretch and condition the deep connective tissues for added flexibility; a guided relaxation; and an introduction to and practice of various methods of seated meditation.
