Calingalan "Cali" Caluang

Imam Naqīb al-Ashrāf Dr. Calingalan Hussin Caluang is a Filipino Muslim scholar of the classical Sunni tradition, adhering to the Ashʿarī creed (ʿaqīdah) and the Shāfiʿī school of jurisprudence (fiqh). He is a descendant of Panglima Bandahala, sharing the noble lineage of the Royal House of Sulu, which traces its ancestry to Sultan Sharif ul-Hāshim and ultimately to the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ through the line of the Ahl al-Bayt. He is recognized as the Naqīb al-Ashrāf of the Philippines, dedicated to preserving the genealogy, heritage, and religious legacy of the Prophet's descendants. Through his writings and public scholarship, he defends the creed of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamāʿah, the honor of the Prophet's Companions and Family, and the rich intellectual tradition of orthodox Sunni Islam as transmitted by the great Imams of the Muslim world.
