Perhaps the most talented homegrown musician in Sullivan County history, Slam Allen turns 52 this week. At a recent free event at the Sullivan County Museum in Hurleyville, the blues musician talked a bit about his career.
HURLEYVILLE - Blues artist Slam Allen, who turns 52 on Thursday (September 6) says that while growing up in Monticello during the late 60s through the 70s he recalls music clubs "on every corner...and on every other corner was a hotel. I watched my Dad and my uncles (perform) and wanted to be like them.”
