s we welcome a new year of exciting possibilities and opportunities for the submarine cable industry it’s the perfect time to once again ask: Where in the World Are All Those Pesky Cableships? SubTel Forum tracks AIS updates every 6 hours from 53 vessels that make up the global cable ship fleet. Between October 24th and December 23rd, the cableship fleet logged over 15,000 AIS updates based on SubTel Forum’s tracking system. Over half of these updates indicated no movement speed during this 60-day period marking a slight decrease in activity from the previous period. This lack of movement is generally attributed to
