As an architect and researcher, I am deeply committed to advancing sustainable solutions for urban challenges, particularly in tropical residential environments. My work bridges the realms of design and environmental science, focusing on the integration of green building technologies, such as vertical green walls and green roofs, to mitigate the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect and improve urban thermal comfort. Currently, I am pursuing a Master’s degree in Architectural Science at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), where my research delves into the development of innovative models to evaluate the effectiveness of heat management technologies. My thesis investigates the simultaneous application of green walls and roofs, leveraging both computational simulations and field measurements to craft scalable solutions for dense residential areas. This work aims to demonstrate how architecture can address pressing climate challenges while fostering healthier and more sustainable urban living spaces. My academic pursuits are complemented by my active engagement in the field through collaborative research and publications. My recent study, "Community Perceptions of the Physical and Spatial Characteristics of Cities Experiencing Urban Heat Island Effects," sheds light on the complex interplay between demographic factors and urban resilience strategies. This research underscores my passion for integrating community perspectives into architectural and urban design processes. Driven by a vision of creating resilient cities, I am eager to collaborate on projects that push the boundaries of sustainable architecture and environmental innovation. Whether through research, design, or strategic planning, I aim to contribute to the transformation of urban environments into spaces that are not only functional but also ecologically and socially responsive.
