The Coastal Route Length: 200 km (35 km at sea) Position: Archipelago Sea’s eastern side Route: see the map on last page The Coastal Route is made for cyclists. The absolute highlights are the historical ironworks villages of Dalsbruk, Mathildedal och Kirjakkala, and the boat trip between Hanko and Kasnäs. Some departures travel via Bengtskär Lighthouse. The route passes through three national parks and small towns. The picturesque Ekenäs old town with its charming wooden houses and cafes is well worth a visit. There are great restaurants and places to stay the night as well as farm shops and kiosks. No bike? The Coastal Route is perfect to explore by motorbike or car, the passenger ferry does not transport vehicles. Signposting: the Coastal Route is marked with brown signs. What to see: boat trip over Hanko’s western bay, Bengtskär Lighthouse, historical ironworks villages, Ekenäs and Hanko. Bike hire is available at many locations along the route and you can even do pick-up on one location and drop-off at another.  www.CoastalRoute.fi
