Drain Protection

Our innovative drain protection products stop spills, sediment and hydrocarbons from entering waterways. Drain covers can be used in the event of a spill or the GuardDog Drain Filter can be installed permanently or for the duration of a project. Contaminated stormwater runoff can block waterways and harm marine life. The EPA also has powers to fine and prosecute.

Guarddog Drain Filter

The GuardDog Drain Filter is a low profile alternative to silt socks and other forms of drain protection. It filters silt, sediment and hydrocarbons from stormwater runoff.

The secret to the GuardDog’s unique filtration abilities is Spilltration Husky absorbent media. With no added chemicals and made from 100% recycled materials, these absorbents effectively trap hydrocarbons and sediment with a minimum particle size of 53 microns (.053mm).

The GuardDog is designed to fit over most types of box, sideentry and v-grate drains. Each drain filter can absorb up to 12 litres of hydrocarbons, releasing clean water. This drain guard is made using heavy duty polyethylene mesh and is capable of being driven over by heavy trucks and machinery.

Emergency Sealer

An ideal emergency seal for temporarily plugging punctured containers or drums. Specifically developed for sealing emergency leaks from holes and ruptures. 100% non-toxic.

SPILL BOOMS & BARRIERS

Portable booms to divert a flow of liquid away from drains and vulnerable areas. Ideal for emergency spills, flexible and resists most liquids.

EROSION & SEDIMENT CONTROL

Our erosion and sediment control solutions help to protect the environment by preventing contaminated storm and flood water from entering waterways.

Silt Curtains

Silt Curtains provide a waterborne barrier around waterfront civil construction projects, restricting damage from sediment runoff into waterways such as rivers, lakes and harbours. The Curtain is constructed from a PVC Coated top float chamber using oil resistant, crumble-proof foam blocks – this section is longitudinally reinforced with polyester webbing for extra strength.

A non-woven geotextile skirt below the float chamber restricts water flow and allows the suspended sediment to settle. A PVC Coated chain pocket is attached to the bottom of the geofabric skirt to provide sufficient ballast to keep it taut.

Chemical Segregation Chart

Use this chart to help you determine which types of chemicals are compatible with eachother and which should be isolated and kept apart. Always consult the relevant SDS when handling or storing any chemical.

FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS (and Combustible liquids)

FLAMMABLE SOLIDS

4.1 Flammable Solids

4.2 Spontaneously combustible

Legend

Dangerous goods of the same Class should be compatible; consult SDS or suppliers about requirements for individual substances.

Dangerous goods of the same Class could be incompatible or react dangerously. Consult the SDS or suppliers about requirements for individual substances.

Segregation of these Classes may be necessary. Consult the SDS or supplier.

Dangerous goods of these classes should be kept apart by at least 3m. Consult the SDS or supplier.

These combinations of dangerous goods should be segregated by at least 5m and kept in separate compounds or building compartments.

This requirement applies to organic peroxides, for which dedicated stores or storage cabinets are recommended, Adequate separation from other buildings and boundaries is required.

NOTES:

1 In all cases, the SDS or supplier of the goods should be consulted.

2 The segregation of dangerous goods of Division 1.4S may be necessary. Consult the SDS or the supplier of the goods.

3 Combustible liquids shall be segregated in the same

4 Dangerous goods of Class 9 should be segregated in accordance with SDS.

5 If the dangerous goods have a Subrisk of another Class, then the segregation requirements of the Subrisk need to be determined and more stringent segregation requirements applied.

6 Where smoke detectors are to be stored, their storage and handling recommendations followed.
