This week's headlines: Happy New Year from Just Mortgages!

Firstly, a very Happy New Year to you and we do hope you managed to take some time out over the festive period.

Already in 2024, we have seen a number of lenders reduce rates significantly and with 3 and 5 year swaps currently in the mid to low 3’s, we anticipate this pattern will continue, at least short term.

Rightmove have also reported a significant up tick in activity over the festive and early new year period Vs the same period last year, all of which points to a positive market in 2024.

Increased terms and improved lending amounts Virgin Money’s mortgages have made some big moves. First up, Virgin Money has increased the maximum term for all its residential mortgages to 40 years.

That’s not all, though. Virgin Money has also improved the amount it could lend, by updating its affordability assessment for residential mortgages fixed for 5 years or longer. It means more of your customers are going to get the loan they need at the term they want.
