ELECTRICAL & COMPUTER ENGINEERING MASTER’S & DOCTORAL PROGRAMS

GRADUATE PROGRAMS Our master’s and doctoral programs balance classroom theory and real-world practical application with opportunities for collaboration across the entire NYU community. You will be mentored by world-class faculty and immersed in leading research in areas such as wireless and power systems, machine learning, hardware security, robotics, and nanoelectronics.

MS IN COMPUTER ENGINEERING Launch improvements in telecommunications, networks, and microelectronics by learning the principles underlying the design and integration of computer components and systems. Core courses include Computing Systems Architecture, Introduction to VLSI System Design, and Internet Architecture & Protocols Lab. Explore careers in circuit design, cybersecurity, and software applications.

MS IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING Build in-demand technology skills for practicing engineering at an advanced level in business, industry, or government; continuing studies at the PhD level; or pursuing innovation as an entrepreneur. Explore careers in wireless communications, machine learning, robotics, cybersecurity, computer engineering, signal processing, network management, and nanoelectronics. Students can hone their expertise by selecting from focus areas in ML/AI, robotics, gen-AI-based chip design, and wireless.

PHD IN ELECTRICAL AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING Through tutelage by faculty members who are leading researchers in various fields and close interactions with industry labs, you will acquire a competitive edge for a career in research or teaching electrical engineering at the university level.

GLOBAL OPPORTUNITIES Build an international network as you gain valuable global perspective and experience in one of our programs for graduate students.

BEGIN ABROAD

STUDY AWAY

In the Electrical and Computer Engineering program, students have the option to study at NYU Abu Dhabi for the first year of coursework, then complete their degree at NYU Tandon in New York.

Second semester graduate students in the Electrical and Computer Engineering programs may elect to pursue coursework toward their degree at NYU London before returning to NYU Tandon in New York to complete their studies.

TOP RESEARCH AREAS

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING

RESEARCH AND RESOURCES Our faculty include members of the National Academy of Engineering and IEEE Fellows who have received National Science Foundation awards and hold more than 100 patents. You will collaborate with these leaders on dynamic projects backed by industry and government agencies. You will also have opportunities to integrate your skills with experts in the School of Medicine and other NYU schools, and obtain hands-on experience in research centers like: Center for Advanced Technology in Telecommunications and Distributed Information Systems (CATT)
