Car overturns, 3 in hospital THREE people were taken to hospital after a two-car accident in McCrae on 3 February that saw one vehicle overturn and land on its roof. The accident, which happened about 3.35, occurred on the busy intersection of Flinders and Cairns streets. Although police data only shows one crash at the intersection in the past five years, residents say it is an accident hot spot and often the scene of accidents and near-misses. A man in his 60s was taken to Frankston Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries and a woman in her 70s was taken to hospital in a stable condition with upper body

injuries. Another man in his 80s was taken to the hospital in a stable condition with no obvious injuries.

Wrong turn HASTINGS SES volunteers were quick to patch up the scene in Mornington on Friday, after a car smashed through the window of the Snooze bed store in Bungower Road. No-one was injured, however emergency services have used the incident to remind drivers exiting a car park to do so slowly, and to always ensure the car is in the correct drive position. Vandals find Mini ‘collectable’ THE apparent dumping of a Mini Cooper S in a shopping car park at Rosebud has baffled business owners, who say that over the past 14 weeks the valuable car has been progressively vandalised, but no owner has surfaced. Waterfall Gully cafe and nursery owner, Roland, pictured, who did want his last name published, said he and other shop owners had been waiting for someone to pick up the car, which had

not been reported stolen and is considered a collectable. He said they had been disappointed to see its deterioration at the hands of vandals. He said he had spoken to police who several weeks ago placed a blue police ribbon around the vehicle, which eventually came off. “Since then, it’s number plates have been stolen and this morning (Friday) we came here to find it had been

jacked up and the mag wheels stolen,” he said. “It’s an unsavoury ending for a car that must belong to someone; it’s got us all curious.” He says the wrecked vehicle “isn’t enhancing the area” and hopes the owner can be found. Victoria Police spokesperson Timothy Bail said abandoned vehicles were a council matter. Liz Bell
