GUEST CONDUCTOR

LISA PEARSON, Orchestra Teacher, Tumwater School District

Lisa Pearson, guest conductor with the Debut Orchestra, has had a life revolving around her passion for music, which began with her early violin lessons and culminated in advanced degrees in violin performance. She has dedicated herself to teaching, obtaining a teaching certificate from Saint Martin’s University, and currently serves as an orchestra teacher in the Tumwater School District. Mr. Craig, the Debut conductor, has thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with guest conductor Mrs. Pearson. He remarked, “Lisa is able to connect with the students and bring out the best in each member of the ensemble.” Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to work with such a knowledgeable and skilled conductor, Mr. Craig added, “This experience has allowed us all to engage more deeply with the music, and we are eagerly anticipating the performance on March 3rd at 4 pm at them Washington Center.”

GIVING TODAY

Watch your donation make a difference. Generous contributions by people like you who deeply care increase our effectiveness in bringing the arts to the youth of this community. Consider Monthly Giving starting at $10 or Workplace Matching Gifts where employees are rewarded for charitable giving and companies often match dollar for dollar. Along with Tribute Gifts honoring a loved one, stocks, Mutual Funds, and IRA required minimum distribution, you can impact SOGO by furthering its mission today.

LEGACY GIVING

You do not need to be wealthy to leave a legacy. Make your core values known by making a planned gift. By supporting our long-term success, you will be remembered as an influencer of the arts for children. By naming SOGO as a beneficiary in your retirement account or life insurance policy you can support SOGO without changing your will or living trust. Join us in making SOGO part of your "today" and making a planned gift for tomorrow.

We are grateful to those that have been generous in their giving. In addition, please see the Future Music Makers Scholarship Fund and our contributor pages 28 and 29, and those who have gifted SOGO with a gracious Estate Legacy Gift.

Planned gifts: Robert & Lucy Reuter

Estate gifts: Isabelle Bohman Mary Flotree Louise Huffine

SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Although our fees to participate in SOGO are reasonable, they are still a barrier for many families. We believe young musicians benefit from participating in SOGO’s programs and should not be prohibitive because of economic circumstances. For that reason, SOGO is reaching out to begin building the Future Music Makers Scholarship Fund.

Children interested in joining SOGO have their family member complete a simple

application form. Based on their interest and demonstrated financial need, up to half the tuition fees can be awarded. All information is kept confidential.

The Future Music Makers Scholarship Fund is supported by committed community members to prevent financial circumstances from becoming an obstacle to any young musician’s participation in SOGO’s orchestras. A robust fund will ensure that all young musicians will have equal opportunity to experience the highquality programming SOGO offers the South Sound area.
