BILL HAMITER (‘82) Congratulations to Coach Bill Hamiter and the US Sitting Women's Volleyball Team for winning the GOLD at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games.

MELISSA HAMPTON (‘14) Has been hired by the Miami Marlins organization to be their first ever woman Athletic Trainer.

JOHNNY KIDWELL (‘21) Southern Nazarene University alumnus Johnny Jack Kidwell was elected to fill the Cherokee Nation’s At-Large seat on the Tribal Council earlier this year.

TODD THURMAN (‘83) Todd Thurman was named Director of Athletics at Metropolitan State University of Denver, a public university in Denver, CO.

COMMANDER MELISSA A. WALKER (‘97) Retired from the US Public Health Service on March 31, 2021. She served 23 years in the uniformed services. She served 10 years as a US Army Officer before transferring to the US Public Health Service in August 2008.

JIMMIE WEAVER III (‘04) Oklahoma State University professor Dr. Jimmie Weaver received a 5-year, $1.8 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), becoming one of only six people in Oklahoma ever to receive the award.

DR. KELLY DIEHL YATES (‘94) Dr. Yates recently authored a historical fiction book entitled, Rush to the Heartland. This intriguing story takes place in Oklahoma in 1889.
