Saskatchewan EMR Program

The SMA SK EMR Program supports physician practices in the selection, implementation and adoption of electronic medical records (EMRs) and other digital health tools. In addition, the program provide services to help physician practices to reach its full potential in utilizing these digital tools efficiently through enhance use strategy.

Enhance patient care Improve patient safety Access the most current patient information securely Enhance practice efficiencies Reduce administration Achieve seamless integration of health systems

The SMA SK EMR Program Practice Advisors consult with physicians on an individual basis to understand their needs. Discussions include:

Customized plans to achieve digital health goals Ongoing advice and tips to realize more value from the EMR Enrollment in provincial integrated services Training on how to use provincial integrated services Deployment of Fluency Direct (self-edit dictations) Obtaining peer support Through a joint funding agreement between the SMA, eHealth Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health, physicians in Saskatchewan can receive ongoing support for the approved Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. The three partners have adopted a multi-faceted approach to quality improvement and funding to assist physicians with implementation and EMR enhance use. The Saskatchewan EMR Program has granted approval status to the following EMR vendors:
