comment Congratulations to the five newly elected TDs for Co. Wexford including the two Enniscorthy based representatives – Paul Kehoe and James Brown. A third Enniscorthy man, Johnny Mythen, got within a whisker of being elected. We wish all our TDs well and hope they can help secure badly needed industrial and service employment for the town. Unfortunately the ‘Brooklyn’ movie didn’t win any Oscars which is disappointing for Enniscorthy. However, a great team of people is working hard to capitalise on the success of the movie and their hard work will no doubt pay off with additional tourists to the town. Enniscorthy is gearing up for the main events of the 1916 Centenary year which take place later this month. Make sure to check out the programme on page 18 and invite all your friends and relatives to join the hordes flocking to the town on Easter Monday. We are also looking forward to the official opening of the Athenaeum later this month – keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates on the date of the opening. Finally, don’t forget to come out and support the Enniscorthy St Patrick’s Day Parade – see the full programme on page 17. And let’s all make an effort to leave the town clean and tidy afterwards. – Frank Corcoran
