Sina Bari MD

Sina Bari MD is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon trained at Stanford University who has established himself as an innovator in medical devices and Medical Artificial Intelligence. His journey began early after the death of his father when he was eight years old. During that time, he translated his mother’s computer science textbooks into English, which sparked his interest in programming. By high school, he had advanced his skills, including UNIX networking, and had created biological simulation software on early parallel supercomputers. These technical abilities supported him financially through college and medical school. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 2000 and later graduated at the top of his class from medical school in 2006. He was selected for one of only three spots in an accelerated residency program in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Stanford, where he trained from 2006 to 2012. During residency, he participated in the Bioinnovation program, contributing to designing medical devices that reduce infection during peritoneal dialysis. This experience allowed him to combine his passions for medicine and technology. In January 2022, he became Senior Director of Medical Artificial Intelligence at a technology firm. Over the prior three years, he had built and led this division from concept to a successful operation, generating more than $4 million in annual recurring revenue. He oversees a team of over 500 professionals focused on producing high-quality training data for AI systems used in radiology, robotic surgery, endoscopy, drug development, and drug safety. Under his leadership, the division was ranked as the top healthcare data service provider by an independent market analysis in 2022. His work has also involved establishing partnerships with three of the largest global medical device companies.
