This year sees many new products across all ranges. With an enviable history of producing some of the world’s most iconic reels, the introduction of the Stella FI will come as no surprise. Stella is Shimano’s flagship reel and has been for many years. The Stella FI, with its new Micro Module gearing, has been a huge success and reinforces Shimano’s technological advantage. Another new introduction is the Baitrunner X Aero range. This combines the very best features of Baitrunner reels with a larger spool. The result is increased casting distance and better fish-playing performance, combined with the simplicity of the original rear lever Baitrunner ‘free spool’ facility. For carp and specimen anglers, the Baitrunner X Aero range provides optimum versatility, irrespective of the size of waters you fish. You will also notice that Shimano Front drag reels have now been placed in four distinct categories to help you choose the correct model for you fishing. CoreSolid reels are strong, smooth and totally reliable. The Lightweight Series make best use of Shimano’s CI4+ material and deliver weight savings of up to 25%. Aero Dynamics combines a larger Aero spool with a more compact body and P4 continues to offer great value Shimano reels at a lower price point. At EFTTEX 2014, the new Rarenium CI4+ FD was voted best new fixed spool reel at the show. For anglers wanting an ultra light reel, combined with uncompromising performance, this new model is not to be missed. For salt water game anglers, the new Spheros SW offers a range of features also found on the market leading Stella SW, at a remarkably low price.
The Shimano rod range has also seen some exciting additions. The new top-of-the-range Lesath CX spinning rod is the best Shimano has ever made and was rightly awarded the title of best new rod at the EFTTEX 2014 show. To prove that Shimano is not just about the most advanced products the hugely popular Yasei Red spinning range has had a

makeover. Many of the new models now have Fuji guides, making them even better value for money for predator anglers across Europe. In keeping with the latest trends, there have also been two new additions in the EVA handled spinning range - the Sustain and the Aernos. Both of these models have graphics which match the reels of the same name. For salt water anglers there have been some big changes. The introduction of the Blue Romance range, which consists of nine different ‘method specific’ models (with STC versions also available), covers a huge variety of salt water fishing methods, from big game to light lure methods. The stunning blue blanks and silver graphics also make Blue Romance one of the visually attractive ranges Shimano has ever made. For anglers fishing for the world’s hardest fighting Pelagic species, there are two new Ocea rods that, when combined with Shimano SW reels offer the complete package of performance and reliability. Shimano is known worldwide for its high quality bike and fishing products but from June 2014 on we globally launched a totally new product; the Action camera! The Shimano CM-1000 Sport Camera is unique and an absolute great tool for any angler and cyclist (extensively tested and used during the Tour de France). The camera is the smallest in his kind (size of a matchbox), ultra-lightweight and waterproof up to 10 meters straight out of the box! From now on you’ll never leave without the Shimano Sport Camera!
