ROD CARE
G.LOOMIS LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY
WARRANTY PERIOD Rods
Shimano warrants to the original owner that G.Loomis rods are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal conditions and reasonable use for the lifetime of the original owner.
TIPS
Here are a few tips for keeping your rod performing at the highest level for many years to come. • Store our rod in its case, out of the sun and weather. Make sure it’s completely dry before storing. • Dogs love to chew on the cork, and so do children, well it’s better to just keep it away from both. • Lubricate reel seats with a small amount of WD40®or similar corrosion inhibitor. • To avoid added stress on the rod it’s best to disassemble it when bushwhacking and when entering boats and cars. • Never reel weights or baits all the way to the rod tip. Th is may damage the tip-top or fracture the tip of the blank. • Always follow the line rating for your rod. Exceeding the line rating is like ‘red lining’ your car’s engine: it may cause the rod to fail. • To free a snag, point the rod tip directly at the snag area and pull back along the axis of the rod, putting the stress on the reel instead of the rod. Th is will either dislodge the snag or break your leader, but your rod will be saved. Never attempt to free a snag with your rod tip, unless your lure costs over £50. • Have fun, after all you’re fishing.
Reels and others
Shimano warrants to the original owner that G.Loomis reels, luggage, clothing, waders and accessories are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal conditions and reasonable use for the period of two years from the date of original purchase.
WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS This warranty does not cover:
· the G.Loomis Product if it has been modified or repaired by a person other than an authorized G.Loomis dealer; · the G.Loomis Product if it has been used for rental or commercial purposes; · damage resulting from causes other than defects in materials and workmanship, including but not limited to accident, abuse, misuse, neglect, improper assembly, improper repair, improper maintenance, alteration, modification or other abnormal, excessive or improper use; · damage occurring during shipment of the G.Loomis Product; · products that are not manufactured under the G.Loomis brand (whether or not packaged or sold with the G.Loomis Product at the time of purchase); and · damage resulting from use of products which are defective or incompatible with the G.Loomis Product; · damage resulting from normal wear and tear, including but not limited to damage or deterioration to the surface finish, aesthetics or appearance of the G.Loomis Product (f.e. cork material).
POWERZONE Never over-stress your rod in one spot. Th is often happens when setting the hook, playing a fish close to the boat or shore, or dead lifting a fish into the boat. Bending the tip at a severe angle in this manner transfers all the stress to a single area, potentially causing the blank to fail. Rods are designed to handle stress over the entire length of the blank and should be flexed with this in mind.
