Work continues
The Subway in Forreston is open as work continues on the stores front following some damage from the last storm. The sandwich shop is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. as the work progresses.

Chick Thing flea market Sept. 18
Vintage Chicks & Feed’s fifth annual Chick Thing outdoor market is set for Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event highlights local small businesses and entrepreneurs selling a variety of products and vintage items.
It will feature more than 20 vendors and four food trucks at Vintage Chicks & Feed, located at 700 Illinois Route 72 East in Leaf River.

Back Roads Market set for Sept. 25

The Back Roads Market is set for Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each market is clean, organized and full of fun. There are no admission fees.

When you sign up for your new library card, you will get to choose a free book from a selection for you to keep. Craft Kits for Adults
Bertolet Memorial Library is now offering take home craft kits for adults and/or families. The kits provide the materials and instructions needed to make a craft. It’s a great opportunity to be creative and de-stress at the same time. Our first kit, available now at the library, includes everything you need to make a wish bracelet. A new kit will be available the first Wednesday of each month.
Leader Dog for the Blind
Join us Saturday, Oct. 2, at 10 a.m., when Bertolet Memorial Library hosts a Leader Dog for the Blind Program. Meet special guest Sherry Berkowitz and future Leader Dog puppies she is bringing with her. Sherry will talk about her experience as a puppy raiser and explain what is involved in training Leader Dog candidates to assist the blind and visually impaired. No registration is required. All ages are welcome.
Create-a-Card
Create-a-Card is back! Join Jessie on the third Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. Make a special card for that special someone or occasion. Weddings, birthdays, holidays... the only limit is your imagination!
