By Victor Waldorff Our first autumn Saturday meeting in the Sierra Bernia School is planned for September 14th from 10.00. From then we restart our help to members solving their problems with PCs and laptops, and also inform about Apple iPads and other touch screen PCs that use the Android or the Windows 8 operating system as well as smartphones. Join our weekly chat in the Forum Mare Nostrum during the summer every Tuesday from 11.00. The first half hour, in the basement PC room of the reception building, is an emergency surgery for help and advice about minor PC problems, after that we move to the bar for a chat and refreshments. At times the PC seems to slow down, it works, but like somebody had poured glue into the circuits. It might be because a program demands a more powerful PC. Or big and fast downloads continuously to function well, like

Google Earth. But the slow down might also be because the hard disks need cleaning or defragmentation. These jobs are done with the system tools that are placed in Windows Accessories Folder, which you find among the Program files. Disk Cleaner is straightforward, and explains what it does step by step. It is amazing how fast rubbish is collected. In Windows 7 defragmentation is easy, but it is more tricky in older versions of Windows; do it with a freeware defragmentation program like "Defraggler" from http://www.piriform.com/ defraggler. Our web page, http://www.cbcomputerclub.net contains all the relevant club information, highlights from earlier talks and demonstrations, how to find us, and answers to PC problems. Visit Specsavers at the Calpe Multicultural Fair WOMEN In Business Club Spain (WIBC), in collaboration with Calpe Town Hall, will be presenting a Multicultural Fair at the Plaza Mayor Calpe, on Sunday, September 1 from 12.00-20.00. This is a free, fun event for all the family with live entertainment, many stands, arts & crafts stalls, a bouncy castle, fashion shows, raffle and dog show. Specsavers Opticas have announced their presence at the event and are inviting local residents to come to their stand for eye care advice from their highly qualified optometrists and to check the UV protection of their sunglasses to make sure their eyes are safe from the sun. To provide some entertainment for the kids, there's a fun competition where children are asked to submit drawings of their favourite cartoon character. They can bring a finished drawing with them on the day and enter it, or paper, pens and crayons will be available on the Specsavers' stand for the little ones to create their masterpieces! The best drawing will be selected by the team to win two pairs of children's glasses. During the event Specsavers are collecting unwanted glasses for the Lions Club, which will be distributed to people in need and are urging everyone to bring their old glasses. Mike Stone from Specsavers Opticas Calpe explains, "Each pair of glasses sitting unused in someone's home or office could be

making a real difference to the world's poorest people who are unable to afford optical care. The Lions do a great job, but they need more frames to help more people! Please bring your frames down to the stand during the event, or drop them into the store on Avenida Ejércitos Españoles." WIBC is a Women's Networking Club that helps progress the business aims and objectives of women of all nationalities living and working in Spain. The club also raises money and awareness

to support victims of gender violence in Spain. All monies raised at the fair from raffles, tombola and space hire will be put to good use within the local community. For enquiries about the event email: eventswibc@gmail.com or for more information about Specsavers Calpe please call 965 835 367 or visit the store at Avenida Ejércitos Españoles 6, Calpe.
