Tomorrowland is a column in which community members share their visions for Durham’s future. With more than 30 years of nonprofit leadership experience – much of it rooted in North Carolina – Triangle Land Conservancy Executive Director Sandy Sweitzer has guided the organization through a period of significant growth and community impact. During her tenure, TLC has opened three new public nature preserves, more than doubled the pace of land protection, and cultivated a staff and board that represent the community TLC serves. Outside of work, Sandy enjoys traveling, biking, gardening, and visiting her children in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
