The Durham Police Department (DPD) and the Durham Emergency Communications Center held a grand opening reception for their new Durham Police and Emergency Communications Headquarters Complex in October, followed by a community grand opening event a few days later that included facility tours, food trucks, entertainment and activities for all ages. An official ribbon-cutting ceremony was held with city and county officials at the community event.
