More than 250 community members attended El Futuro’s second annual Fall Fundraiser and Art Auction, “Expresiones,” at The Rickhouse on Oct. 8. Co-hosts Monica Alvarez and El Futuro board member Luis Alvarez donated the space after their wedding reception was canceled due to COVID-19. Guests enjoyed a Mexican-American fusion dinner, a silent auction, and art and vendor displays. The event raised $120,000 to further the organization’s mission to provide mental health support for Latino families in North Carolina. 5
