CHINA SEA !mi Loa is a pinnace, an 18rh-cenrury vessel that wo uld have been carried on larger ships for use on shore expeditions. It has 10 oar starions and can also be sailed wirh her sprirsail kerch rig. The boar was shipped ro Hawaii rhis summer. Rockport Marine also builr the latest Godspeed, now in Jamesrown, VA, and is anticipating an autumn launch of Adventure, a 53-foor replica of an 18th-cenrury colonial trading vessel designed by the late W illiam Baker. The 1894 Schooner Ernestina, ex-Effie M Morrissey, is getting some sorely needed repairs to her hull at Boothbay Harbor Shipyard in Boothbay Harbor, ME. In June, she left her New Bedford, MA, homeporr under power to head ro Maine. According to Ernestina's executive direcror, Paul Brawley, repairs include work on rhe srem, foredeck, and planking above the waterline, and remporary repairs ro rhe deck ro halt leaki ng. The ship has been inacrive since summer 2004. The repairs are expected ro be completed this fall and will follow the srandards set forrh in the Secretary of the Interior's Srandards for Hisroric Vessel Preservation Projecrs and USCG guidelines. The shipyard has a 700-ron marine railway and has recenrly done extensive restorarion work on rhe Bounty and the Martha's Vineyard-based Shenandoah. W hile she
