ngineers help bring the visions of others to life. A business owner, municipality or organization collaborates with an architect to create the concepts and drawings for a new building or project; the engineer takes that concept into the real world. Engineers are the practical applicators of the building process. They look at a client’s vision or an architect’s drawing, apply their skills to the myriad factors of livability, sustainability, practicality, function and form, then work to turn that twodimensional drawing into a threedimensional structure.
Our editorial team analyzed industry data and considered the individuals who demonstrated vision and action in serving their profession, as well as the professional excellence that commitment provides to our places of work and life. This Power List marks a change in presentation from our biweekly newspapers in Charleston, Columbia and the Upstate to the more statewide scope of SCBIZ magazine. We hope this expanded coverage is a way to broaden the exposure and increase the awareness of the important work of the professionals recognized in these Power Lists.
