The gated brewery premises have seminar and conference rooms with state-of-the-art equipment. Rasch adds: “For tourists and business travellers, our main building has comfortably furnished double rooms, and additional lovingly designed rooms are located in our Alpenblick building.”
The history of Rothaus Brewery goes back all the way to 1791. The special location, 1,000 metres above sea level, and the passion for beer making, have remained unchanged ever since. “The answer to the question of what our secret is begins with the raw ingredients,” says sole director Christian Rasch. “We source all our ingredients locally. This guarantees short delivery routes and premium freshness. Rothaus Brewery uses a cold fermentation process and allows the beer to mature in our storage tanks for a long time. Rothaus Brewery was established some centuries ago, yet you can still find it right where it’s always been, in the Upper Black Forest. Here, you can not only find traditional craftsmanship, but also heartfelt passion for the art of brewing. That’s how crystal-clear water and regional ingredients are turned into premium beers – including the undisputed favourite of the range: Tannenzäpfle.
