The idea of ‘Phoenix Design’ didn’t emerge in a Silicon Valley garage, but rather on a yacht in the Caribbean. Over 30 years ago, aboard the ‘Sweet Mama’, the founders, Andreas Haug and Tom Schönherr, dreamed of having their own design studio. They didn’t know it then, but this was the beginning of what would become one of the most successful design studios worldwide – thanks to dedicated employees, great customers and a distinctive philosophy.

Today, an 80-strong team of international experts in Stuttgart, Munich and Shanghai are working with their partners to create a joint vision of Smart Living. Currently, a special focus is on digital products and on products that can be transformed into user experiences through apps. “As designers, we’re responsible for reinventing the world we live in. We believe we can serve people best by focusing on those things that will always matter: living and well-being – at home, at work or on the go,” Andreas Diefenbach, managing partner of Phoenix Design GmbH + Co. KG, Stuttgart, says. “All our efforts are tailored to meet the real, everyday needs and desires of real people, regardless of age, origin or lifestyle.” The satisfied customer base includes major players such as Audi, Axor, Bosch,

Hansgrohe, Haier, Huawei, LG, MercdesBenz, Samsung, Stiebel Eltron, Trumpf, Vorwerk, Wilkhahn and Xiaomi. To create a holistic brand experience, Phoenix Design takes a multi-disciplinary approach. It supports its clients right from the initial idea, through the design phase all the way to the final data set, often working in long-standing partnerships. Change and re-invention, the building blocks of success, are deeply ingrained in the PHOENIX DNA.
