…but VIVID – A Celebration of Life sets new benchmarks!
...doch mit VIVID – Eine Liebeserklärung an das Leben setzt das Haus neue Maßstäbe.
“Friedrichstadt-Palast is a place where dreams, visions and fantasies come true. VIVID continues this tradition,” underlines creative director Oliver Hoppmann, who, as co-author and co-director, is also responsible for the production of VIVID. “VIVID is a joyful collage of spectacular dance performances, extravagant costumes, dynamic music and breathtaking acrobatics. And thanks to audio description, people with visual impairments can now also enjoy the show.”
VIVID recounts the story of a girl that breaks out of her everyday life and encounters a different world – a world full of colours, individuality and diversity. She needs to decide who she wants to be and how she wants to see the world. Presented in stunning, gripping images, VIVID whisks the audience away to a fantastic world, and addresses issues that are somehow important to all of us: the question of our own identity and the perception of the beauty of things.” Another of Friedrichstadt-Palast Berlin’s spectacular highlights currently taking place, is the Young Show’s Im Labyrinth der Bücher, which premiered on 17 November and runs until 31 January 2020.
„Der Friedrichstadt-Palast ist ein Ort, an dem Träume, Visionen und Phantasien wahr werden! Diese Tradition führen wir mit VIVID fort”, so Kreativdirektor Oliver Hoppmann, der als Co-Autor bzw. Co-Regisseur auch für die Produktion von VIVID verantwortlich ist. „VIVID ist eine bunte Collage aus spektakulären Tanzdarbietungen, ausgefallenen Kostümen, temporeicher Musik und atemberaubender Akrobatik. Dank Audiodeskription ist VIVID seit neuestem auch für Menschen mit Sehbehinderung erlebbar. Die Show erzählt die Geschichte eines Mädchens, das aus ihrem Alltag ausbricht und eine andere Welt kennenlernt – eine Welt voller Farben, Individualität und Diversität. Sie muss entscheiden, wer sie sein und wie sie die Welt sehen möchte. Dargeboten in gigantischen, fesselnden Bildern, entführt VIVID die Zuschauer*innen in eine durch und durch phantastische Welt; und spricht Themen an, die uns irgendwie alle berühren: die Frage nach der eigenen Identität und die Wahrnehmung der Schönheit der Dinge.” Ein weiteres spektakuläres Highlight des Friedrichstadt-Palasts Berlin ist die Young Show Im Labyrinth der Bücher, die am 17.
