At home on the waves Every day a new view of stunning nature, a little adventure and a lot of comfort – many of us dream of owning a yacht. This year marks the 50th anniversary of The Moorings: 50 years of helping sailing fans to become yacht owners. The tried and tested concept is reminiscent of Airbnb, because you own a yacht which you can use, but also rent out to generate an income. The big difference, however, is that The Moorings has been offering this since 1969 and has hence been a true pioneer. Not only is the entire chartermanagement looked after by the company, but it also takes on all operating costs too. The experience of 50 years of success grants a lot of security and trust. With KKR as the parent company, which recently acquired Travelopia (formerly TUI), it is clear that The Moorings is also very strong financially, and that customers are always in very safe hands. tied to your own boat and its location. You can also choose from the fleet’s sister ships at The Moorings bases. “You can use all the sister ships across the world, so customers can simply fly to the destination and charter right there,” Anastasia Stebner of The Moorings explains. She adds: “If you privately owned a yacht, you would have to bring it to the new destination.” From St. Lucia, Puerto Rico, St. Martin over Grenada, Corfu, Dubrovnik and Palma to Thailand, the Seychelles, BVI’s, Tahiti and more – The Moorings have bases at some of the most beautiful places on Earth.
