Markus Kuhner, CEO of the Eschbornbased MAVEA Yachts GmbH & Co.KG, took over SLYDER Yachts a couple of years ago. Since then, him and his team have substantially reorganised and restructured the former SLYDER brand. “My designer, engineering team and I have completely revised the basic concept, extensively improved it on the basis of my longstanding sailing experience and have implemented many new ideas,” explains Kuhner. Today, SLYDER stands for sailing performance with an exceptional ambiance, consistent single-hand operation and the highest quality. “Our ultimate goal is to produce yachts with which sailors can have many carefree years,” explains Kuhner. To achieve this, SLYDER puts special emphasis on quality manage-
ment, while using materials and equipment from industry leading companies. “We try to implement all client wishes – to the extent possible – which makes us stand out as a small manufacturer. We ultimately want to be an alternative for enthusiastic monohull sailors whose partners and families don’t always want to go downstairs and who simply prefer comfortable, upright sailing. After all, many sailors find it hard to find the suitable yacht that not only sails nicely (which many catamarans don’t do), but that their partners also like,” smiles Kuhner.
