Avant luggage with Interlink™ accessories.
Innovative travel luggage for individual requirements With Interlink™, the German company VOCIER has created the world’s first configurable luggage system: a minimalist look and timeless, elegant design combined with high-quality materials. The Zero Crease™ technology even solves the problem of wrinkled suits. TEXT: JESSICA HOLZHAUSEN I PHOTOS: VOCIER
VOCIER’S new Avant collection is a revolution: “It allows travellers to individually shape their luggage according to unique requirements and to give it a personal touch,” says VOCIER managing director Vinzent Wuttke. The company had the idea two years ago, when they took a closer look into what passengers think is really important and how luggage can be optimised accordingly. “Each customer has very individual needs, when he or she travels – either for work or for their next city trip. But it is nearly impossible to fulfil all these expectations with one trolley,” says Wuttke. A handluggage trolley with four wheels is the 68 | Issue 71 | February 2019
new collection’s core component and can be connected to other products from the lines through a specifically developed and patented system of magnets and locking mechanisms. All VOCIER suitcases have a Fast Pass™ pocket: this allows for accessing cosmetics easily at security checks, for example. The ideas for Zero Crease™, Fast Pass™ and Interlink™ technology are the result of personal experiences that the young, innovative entrepreneurs behind VOCIER have gone through. The founders, Michael Kogelnik and Vinzent Wuttke, worked as
investment brokers at the beginning of their careers and travelled accordingly. But they always found travel luggage disappointing: nearly every supplier offered the same form and design. “We also could not find a solution for our specific problems: wrinkled suits, lost time during security checks and no safe but easy to access space for our travel documents,” Vinzent Wuttke explains. The luxury luggage label VOCIER has therefore set itself a special mission: “We want to make life easier for people who have to travel a lot.” The company’s cabin luggage has style, is future-orientated, robust and extremely lightweight. “Our luggage is unique worldwide,” says Vinzent Wuttke. The VOCIER suitcase system has repeatedly been awarded accolades such as the Red Dot Design, the iF Design, the Richard Dyson Design and the Germany Design (Gold) Awards.
