Holidays for those seeking relaxation while having a spirit of discovery Finding tranquillity away from everyday stress while discovering the mountain landscape like a true explorer: The Arlberg in Austria is a world-famous ski resort and first class recreation area in the summer. This is where the Hotel Haldenhof is situated. For 50 years, the family Schwärzler has focused on individual service and hospitality. Holidays should be more than a ‘recreation package’ and offer the freedom to explore the region on one’s own. Whoever remembers how it feels to walk barefoot through a meadow or cool their feet in an Alpine river after a long hiking trip, has perhaps found the right spot: The Arlberg is famous for a breath-taking Alpine landscape, where quiet hikers might spot ibex, chamois, marmot or red deer. Patient anglers could even catch brown trout and then barbecue it directly at the Lech’s riverbank. The Haldenhof lies in the heart of Lech am Arlberg, directly at the shore of the river with the same name. and routes for long distant mountain hikes lie directly at the hotel’s doorstep. And on top of this, guests will find the golf club Lech, climbing gardens and opportunities for canyoning and paragliding – in short: everything that sportive holidaymakers might search for in summer. In winter, the ski slopes are only a stone’s throw away. Founded in 1968/69, the Haldenhof has over time changed from a simple Bed & Breakfast to a high-class four-star hotel. Still today, the hotel has lost nothing of its unique charm or the personal service that the owners and their experienced
team pride themselves on offering. Many guests are returning every year – some families in the third generation since the hotel’s foundation.“Our philosophy is that of a hospitable, traditional and qualityconscious family business,” the owners Claudia and Michael Schwärzler say, and emphasise an important aspect when dealing with guests: “We will take time for your personal needs.”And that makes holidays here so different. The combination of family tradition and modern service is also mirrored in the rooms – personally chosen materials, colours, fabrics and interiors, pictures from Prof Huber Schwärzler’s private collection, high-speed Wi-Fi and a love for detail. The hotel also has a restaurant with fine cuisine and a focus on regional produce, a cosy lounge with an open fireplace and a spa for a break after a beautiful day in the mountains.
