GRIMSEL HOSPIZ - HISTORICAL ELEGANCE MEETS MODERN AMENITIES The Hotel Grimsel Hospiz is a part of Swiss history. Documented as the country's first Inn in 1142, it became famous in 1932 as Europe's first electrically heated hotel. Almost 80 years later, the Grande Dame presents itself in new glory. Thoroughly renovated but still tradition-conscious, it is known as one of the most comfortable mountain hotels in the Alps. It perches on a powerful rocky outpost by the reservoir and symbolises hydroelectric power. The view from its observation deck is simply stunning.
