Instructor: Vince Sansone WINTER Friday, 1:30-3:30 pm, Studio 4, 6 Weeks Learn traditional raku firing and other postreduction techniques. The first four meetings will be spent making pieces for the firings. Some handbuilding skills are needed. Besides the traditional raku firing method, we will explore fuming and horsehair finishing techniques. Come and learn this exciting firing method with instant results. Members $165 • Non-members $185

Instructor: Vince Sansone Friday, March 10 WINTER 1:30-5:30 pm, Studio 4 Here’s a chance to sit around the table and play. Learn to use the pinch forming method to make small heads. Manipulate the clay from inside the form to enhance facial features before closing it up. Design a base for the head when you make it. The last hour will be used to show ways of decorating and glazing. Member/Non-Members $50

The hosts will walk you and your partner through clay projects that will make a fantastic date night. Beginners welcome; materials included. Members/Non-members $90 Born in Moscow, Vadim Malkin is a third-generation artist and since graduating with his BFA, he has been developing his art and instructing in ceramics at Crealdé. He curates the Visual Fringe for the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival, and his award-winning work has been on display at numerous galleries and art festivals. Manager of Ceramics at Crealdé, Vince Sansone joined the school in the 1970s and has more than 40 years of experience as a professional potter and arts educator. He received his Masters of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Southern Illinois University and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. PHOTOGRAPHY PH371 The Lake: A Master Class in Documentary Photography Exploring Land and People on Lake Apopka Instructors: Peter Schreyer and Sherri Bunye Thursday, 7 – 9 pm, starting February 2 WINTER Advanced students learn to photograph with purpose while creating a cohesive documentary project exploring life and land on Lake Apopka. Learn about project development, implementation, caption writing and finishing a body of work for exhibition. Discover classic documentary-style photography by examining and discussing work by other artists. Through a partnership with the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation and in the tradition of muchrecognized past Crealdé documentary projects, “The Lake” will be featured in two major Central Florida gallery exhibitions in late 2017 and early 2018. The local story of Lake Apopka has national significance and in many ways represents the pioneering spirit of the American dream, at times jeopardized by exploitation of land and people. Tuition includes Crealdé studio and lab use, as well transportation on class field trips. Prerequisite: Photography III, past Crealdé documentary master classes or similar experience. June 9 – 18, 2017 SUMMER Spend a leisurely ten days exploring and photographing the Swiss landscape, history and contemporary culture. Travel in small group off the beaten path along scenic back roads. Participate in themed day trips while traveling comfortably in our private van. Excursions will vary from day to day and will allow flexibility for the group’s specific interests. Historic farmhouses and vineyards, breathtaking Alpine scenery combined with light hiking, medieval towns and castles are just a few of the planned day trips. Stay in deluxe hotels in scenic locations, eat delicious food, and immerse yourself in a different culture comfortably – the Swiss way!

The trip is led by Peter Schreyer, Crealdé’s Executive Director and internationally exhibited photographer, who is known for his documentary projects that celebrate history and heritage of communities. Over the past three decades, he has crafted photographic tours to his native country that appeal to photographers of all skill levels.
Tuition includes nine nights of deluxe, double occupancy accommodations at three and four star hotels, all ground transportation in Switzerland (by private van, mountain rail and lake steamer), some meals, all admissions and photographic guidance by native, bi-lingual tour guide throughout the trip.
