1. DETOX REFINED CARBS. “Don’t avoid fresh fruit—you’re probably not going to overeat bananas, but you will overeat things like potato chips, pasta and pizza. It’s so easy to get addicted to refined carbs—that’s why you avoid them. It takes a week to detox. Once you get them out of your system, with no cheat days, you’ll be amazed by how your cravings disappear.” 2. PAY ATTENTION TO QUANTITIES. “How much you eat matters, regardless if it’s a salad or M&M’s. Calories are a measure of energy and a measure of fuel. If you want to drain the tank, there’s only one way to do it: Put in less fuel. A calorie is there to tell you how much gas you’re putting in. It won’t tell you if you’re eating correctly.” 3. LEARN HOW AND WHEN TO EAT. “You should be feeding within several hours of waking up and filling up on snacks and small meals throughout the day. You shouldn’t be waiting and hoarding food into the evening.”
