You can’t write a history of swimming in Saskatoon without mentioning Penguin Park (also named at one time Penguin Village by a different owner). Built at the height of the water slide craze of the 1980s, the park on Idylwyld Drive North opened in August of 1986 and featured several death-defying runs including a near-vertical 72-foot drop.
