3 BHK apartment Client’s brief

This house was designed for Mr. Suresh, who was returning to his roots in Bangalore, having lived in Davangere since the last 30 years. Mr. Suresh and his wife enjoy an independent lifestyle and they were looking forward to an elegant, classy and functional home to greet them on their return. Mr. Suresh described their requirement to be “elegant, simple, utilitarian but easy to maintain and with aesthetic interiors proposed by the Architect team”. They were very flexible with their selections, with complete trust on their Architect guiding them through this Home Designing process. Since they were not residing in Bangalore, they were averse to having multiple design iterations and wanted one-stop solution for all their furniture, decor and interiors and home automation requirement.

Design approach

The house is a 3 BHK apartment located adjacent to a major bustling road; they wanted a solution for the entire home, including the Kitchen, Wardrobes, Living & Dining Room furniture, decor items and other interiors works such as false ceiling, wall cladding, soft furnishing, window dressings, window enclosures, appliances, lighting, home & bathroom fixtures and fittings and more. They also wanted to infuse Home Automation elements in their living room and master bedroom, wanting basic lighting, AC, Curtain and Home Theatre control. Considering their requirement, the home was designed with a contemporary theme in mind. Subtle greys and whites were predominant colors in the different areas of the home, as they highlighted the classy design and did justice to the spacious rooms. Mr. Suresh hosted many dinner parties for his business friends, hence he wanted the foyer and the living room to be the highlight, he didn’t mind spending the extra buck just to get the right look! Mrs. Suresh, on the other hand, needed her kitchen to be very functional and traditional - her kitchen in their existing home in Davangere was semi-modular - and she didn’t want the new kitchen to be very modern or European. Hence we proposed a Natural Wood Kitchen, with dark stains to give it a rustic and traditional vibe. It had ample storage, lofts, top storage, tall unit with pantry pull out and neatly planned base units.

All the bedrooms were designed individualistically - the master bedroom was very functional with an integrated wardrobe with study; the second bedroom designed for their son was with mature tones and clean design direction; while the guest bedroom being frugal with an influence of pastel palette.
