Froelich in honor of his wife, a member of the College Class of 1951. Income used to provide student support. McKenzie Armes Library Endowment $15,483 Established in 2002 by the Estate of Mary Gilbert McKenzie and The Anne Shuford McBryde Family Foundation in honor of Victoria McKenzie Armes ’62C and Lawson

Wyche Armes ’87HS ’89C. Income used to provide support for the Sarah Graham Kenan Library. Mildred Borden Hanes Endowment $11,872 Established in 1989 by The Frank Borden Hanes Charitable Lead Trust in memory of Mildred Borden Hanes, a member of the Class of 1909. This is an unrestricted endowment created for the purpose of annually providing funds utilized for the betterment of the school.

Minnie Tucker Baker Endowment Scholarship $154,703 Established in 1947 by Mrs. Ashby Baker, a member of the Alumnae Council. Income used to provide student support and awarded on the basis of academic achievement and financial need. Mittie Crumpler Landi Scholarship Endowment $80,888 Established in 1989 by former Trustee John N. Landi in honor of his wife, a member of the College Class of 1957. Income used for student support. Monarch Scholarship Fund $61,450 Established in 1989 by an anonymous donor. Income used to provide support for students from North Carolina. Anonymous N. K. Dickerson Endowment $473,594 Established in 1970 by Sara Craig Dickerson ’37C and the late Norvin Kennedy Dickerson, Jr., a former Trustee. This endowment has supported the English Department in honor of Ann Dickerson Whitehurst ’67HS, and the History Department in memory of Annie Welsh Craig, Class of 1915. In recent years, income has supported the school’s technology program. Nancy Elizabeth Marlowe Scholarship Endowment $195,543 Established in 1982 by Mr. and Mrs. William A. Marlowe, Jr. in memory of their daughter, a member of the Class of 1982. Income used to provide student support is awarded on the basis of academic achievement.

Nancy O’Herron Rankin Endowed Professorship $184,380 Established in 1988 by Mrs. Rankin, a member of the High School Class of 1941. Income used to support an academic professorship. NationsBank Campus Preservation Fund $34,607 Established in 1989 by NationsBank to assist with the management and upkeep of campus buildings and grounds.

Nell B. Lewis Writing Award $4,134 Established in memory of Nell Battle Lewis, an influential writer and an inspirational English teacher at Saint Mary’s in the 1930s and 40s. The award is given to the returning student who best exemplifies Ms. Lewis’s respect for and love of writing. Niles Medal Fund $2,224 Instituted in 1905 by The Reverend Dr. Charles Martin Niles. The medal is conferred upon the graduate who has made the highest scholastic average for all four years at Saint Mary’s School while maintaining satisfactory citizenship. Nisbet Fund $42,103 Established in 1983 by Mr. and Mrs. W. Oliver Nisbet. Mrs. Nisbet is a member of the High School Class of 1940 and the College Class of 1942, and the proceeds of this endowment are used primarily for support of the annual operating budget. The North Carolina Outward Bound Endowment for Saint Mary’s School $1,025,479 Established in 2007 by Marjorie Bryan Buckley ‘60C to endow the Outward Bound component of the Saint Mary’s School life skills program. Organ Fund $21,820 Established in 1984 by Mrs. Mary Kistler Stoney, Class of 1919, to provide permanent maintenance for the Chapel organ given by her in 1983. Pearl Dixon Balthis Scholarship Endowment $78,115 Established in 1988 by a grant from the Pearl Dixon Balthis Foundation. Income used to provide student support and is awarded on the basis of financial need. Peggy Crevenston Dukes Faculty Enrichment Fund $142,159 Established in 1977 by Mr. and Mrs. William W. Dukes, Jr. in honor of their daughter, a member of the College Class of 1963. Proceeds are used annually for various faculty enrichment programs. Fran Pegues Burroughs ’61HS ’63C
