WARNING - THE DANGERS OF PYROTECHNICS AT FOOTBALL
MATCHES
The potential injuries sustained as a result of someone using a pyrotechnic include:
Serious injuries, such as loss of limb or fingers
Severe burns, due to temperatures of up to 2,000°C
Breathing problems, due to smoke inhalation
Loss of hearing or sight, because of the explosive power
Action will be taken by the GFA if any club is reported to them by the Referee.

SharpnessA.F.Cwasfoundedinthe1900-1901season.Theirhomeground wasThePortwhichtheyrentedfromBritishWaterwaysforapepper-corn rateofonepoundperyear.
During3seasonsofthemid20'sSharpnesswontheGloucestershire NorthernSeniorLeague.Althoughnofootballwasplayedduringbothwars Sharpnessplayersregularlywrotehometotelloftheirfootballing achievementswhiletheywereawayonduty.
Afterthe2ndWorldWarSharpnesswereverymuchtotheforeandplayed atthehigheststandardinGloucestershirefootball.TheSharkswerevery successfulandinthe1962-63seasonthe1stXIwontheGNSLwhilstthe 2ndXIwontheStroudLeagueDiv1withoutlosingagame,aremarkable achievement.
In1974aclubhousewasbuiltandfromthatpointSharpnesswentfrom strengthtostrength.TheywontheGloucestershireCountyLeagueand joinedtheHellenicPremierLeaguewheretheywereverysuccessfulfora numberofyearswinningthetitlein1986 Inthe1985-86seasontheygotto thelast16inthecountryplayingintheF.A.AmateurCup.
ItwasatthispointthatBritishWaterwaysdecidetheywantedtodevelop onthelandwhereThePortwassituatedsotheclubhadtoleavein1988its homeof88years.FollowingWorldWar1aGrandstandhadbeenbuiltin memoryofthosewhoperishedinthewar,alasthiswasbulldozedwhen TheSharkshadtoleaveThePort
ForthreeseasonstheyplayedonForestGreenspitchatapricefartoo highforthattime.Itbecameimpossibletocoverthecostsofplayingat ForestGreensotheclubhadtoreverttoplayingatalowerlevel.Reduced tooneteamnowplayinginGNSLDiv2theygotpromotedintheirfirst season1991-92.
SinceleavingForestGreenSharpnesshaveplayedtheirgamesatBerkeley ValeSchool&nowatHamfieldsLeisureCentrewherewehaveputalotof effortintoimprovingthefacilitiessowecouldonceagainplyourtradein thecountyleague.
Sharpness1stXIhaveretainedtheirpositioninGNSLDiv1since1992,even winningtheleaguein2001-2002,2009-2010&2015-2016forarecord11 timebutalastheirfacilitiespreventedthemgettingpromoted.
WefinallystartedthedevelopmentofnewchangingroomsatHamfields inMay2018completingtheprojectinMarch2019justintimefor inspection.The1 XIstillhadtodothebusinessonthefieldtosecure promotionanddidjustthatbywinningtheleagueforarecord12 timein 2018-19whichsecuredpromotiontotheGloucestershireCountyleague.
DuringourfirstseasonintheCountyLeague,wegaveagoodaccountof ourselveslyingin3 positionintheleagueandmakingittotheSemiFinal oftheLesJamesCupbeforetheseasonwascurtailedearly.
Inour1 fullseasonintheGlosCountyLeaguewemanagedtofinishina creditable3 placehavingrecoveredfromaslowstart.Wealsomanaged totaketwoscalpsfromhigherleagueoppositionintheGlosFAChallenge Trophy.
Sharpnessareenteringtheir7 seasonintheGlosCountyLeagueand havesecuredatophalffinishineachseason.WealsomadeittotheLes JamesCupFinalin2022-23butwerebeatenonthedaybyBroadwell.
In2024-25theteamfinished5 butthatdoesn’ttellthewholestoryaswe spentmostoftheseasoninthetop3beatingeventualchampions Almondsburytwice Unfortunatelyasthegamescamethick&fastatthe endoftheyearwewereunabletomaintainthepaceandfinished5 overalljust5pointsofftopspot.
