Scholarships Since its foundation in 1882 the Royal College of Music has awarded scholarships to help cover the tuition fees of students to enable them to study here. Scholarships are awarded by the Director at the start of each academic year on the grounds of talent, potential and musical ability. Currently around half of our students receive support through scholarships and awards. Generations of gifted students have been inspired to forge their creative careers at the RCM, including some of the most distinguished figures in British music history. Every gift to the Royal College of Music Scholarship Fund helps to transform the lives of talented young students and the RCM is grateful to all the individuals, organisations, companies and charitable trusts that have supported Scholars.
