SPIEGELTENT
JAY PHAROAH Live from New York, it’s Jay Pharoah! The master impressionist and stand-up comedian from SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE makes his Rochester Fringe debut! Pharoah is best known for his wide array of uncanny celebrity impressions including President Barack Obama, Will Smith, Denzel Washington and Kanye West, as well as for recurring character, principal Daniel Frye, who's based on his own high school principal. Pharoah’s Kanye West parody, I AM A DOG, became an instant viral video, reaching more than a million views within the first week. He also teamed up with Kerry Washington to parody WHAT DOES THE FOX SAY. Their version, WHAT DOES MY GIRL SAY, reached four million views in one week. Opening for Pharoah will be Rochester’s own Jamie Lissow. Brother Wease’s former sidekick, Lissow has appeared on THE LATE SHOW, THE LATE LATE SHOW, and Comedy Central. He last played Fringe in 2012, opening for Patton Oswalt. He has recently finished co-writing and starring in the new sitcom REAL ROB with Rob Schneider.
