Robert Hume Campo, a native of Georgia, has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to responsibility, bravery, and diligence. These values were evident early on and have remained central to his professional and personal journey. His path in public safety and construction began when he served as a lieutenant in the fire marshal's office in Roswell, GA. During this time, his interest in construction safety took root, as he spent countless hours reviewing blueprints to ensure compliance with fire and life safety standards. This foundational experience shaped his future approach to managing safety on complex construction sites. Robert took a significant step in his career by accepting a position as a Safety Professional for General Motors Corporation in Rayong, Thailand. This international role involved overseeing safety procedures for a major construction project. The position required a geographic transition and increased responsibility, which he embraced fully. His work on this large-scale effort reflected his ability to adapt and perform under new and challenging conditions. His career expanded further in the Marshall Islands, where Hume Campo worked on two projects under the US Corps of Engineers contract. In this capacity, his role grew to include responsibilities as an environmental liaison and safety oversight officer, ensuring all activities adhered to EM-385 standards. His dedication during this phase was critical to the success and safety of the projects. Upon returning to the United States, he continued to apply his expertise to heavy civil engineering work. Robert Hume contributed to projects led by Kiewit Construction and Ames Construction, offering safety leadership across various activities, including active railroad construction, tunneling, open-pit operations, and mining. His professional certifications and practical experience were central to maintaining safety and operational standards across these demanding environments.
