The volume deals with the complex universe of the artist (born Manila, 1975), who combines elements deriving from the iconography and aesthetic of Baroque with Japanese woodcuts (ukiyo-e), reinterpreted in a Pop style. In his paintings, men, women, and anthropomorphic animals are shown in forests plentiful with butterflies and birds, which introduce the theme of vanitas in a context of strong visual impact.

Demetrio Paparoni is an art critic, curator, and essayist. His publications include: Wang Guangyi (2013), Natee Utarit (2017), and Ronald Ventura (2018). Patrick Duarte Flores is a Filipino independent art critic, curator of the Vargas Museum in Manila, a former curator of the Philippine Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2015, and artistic director of the 2019 Singapore Biennale. Ricky Francisco is a Filipino independent art curator and current director of the Fundacion Sansó and the Lopez Museum. Elio Cappuccio is President of the Sicilian College of Philosophy.
