Rich Turasky

Rich Turasky is an investment entrepreneur with a long record of leadership in commercial real estate investment, finance, and development. Over more than 30 years, he has partnered with private and institutional equity groups while building and guiding operating businesses. As Founder and CEO of Capital Companies, he has led more than 100 commercial real estate investments across several states, managing portfolios that include over 1,000 tenants. Born in 1970, Rich earned a Bachelor of Arts from Bradley University in 1992. He later completed executive education programs at Harvard University, strengthening his expertise in strategic leadership and organizational management. He has also served as a featured speaker at the University of Illinois, where he has shared insights on entrepreneurship, capital formation, and real estate investment strategy. He began his professional career by representing major Chicago-area operating companies in commercial real estate transactions. During this period, he also focused on sourcing and managing high-potential private and institutional investments. His early experience included underwriting, market analysis, negotiation, and asset management, which prepared him for increasingly complex transactions and long-term portfolio oversight. As market opportunities expanded, Rich moved into mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring, and executive board leadership. By the mid 1990s, he was recognized for combining analytical rigor with practical execution. He developed a reputation for overseeing multi-state portfolios, strengthening tenant stability, and aligning investor objectives with disciplined operational performance. Throughout his career, Rich Turasky has founded, led, or served on the boards of directors of more than 20 operating companies across industries such as plastic manufacturing, pharmaceutical development, aviation, beverage distribution, and commercial and digital lending.
