Aggressive Styling The new Genesis Coupé takes design to the next level; advanced interiors, technologies and luxuries combine to create a car that stands out in more ways than one. Test drives have commenced as Hyundai launches the new Genesis Coupé in the Middle East, a 2013 year model that reveals a more aggressive design, coupled with serious performance. The model sports a more defined styling, complemented by improved interior materials and design. It is incredibly striking, with a redesigned front fascia, grille, headlights, LED daytime running lights, fog lights and hood with heat extractor cues. The side view reveals new 18-inch alloy wheel designs with deeper dimensional sculpting. “The fluid sculpture of the design lines are evident as they are integrated into a new front bumper and hood, giving a far sportier look than its previous form,” says Tom Lee, managing director of Hyundai Middle East. “This new model is in

showrooms now and is an excellent example of Hyundai’s luxury model offering. The previous model it replaces won accolades all over the world so we have high hopes for the new version here,” he continues. The traditional rear-drive sport coupé proportions remain, with a long wheelbase and short front and rear overhangs producing a classic wedge-like profile. The coupé’s bodyside character line is an innovative ‘Z’-shaped design and enlarged openings in the front fascia allow for better engine breathing. Dual asymmetrical exhaust tips integrated with the blackout rear diffuser treatment complete the performance message from the rear. The coupé is available with two engine options; the 3.8-litre V6 engine and the 2.0-litre turbocharged engine are both available with a six-speed manual transmission or eight-speed automatic transmission. A wide range of both active and passive safety features are inbuilt. Standard safety technology includes driver and front passenger advanced frontal airbags, along with front seatmounted side airbags, side air curtains and active front head restraints. The strong unibody construction includes front and rear crumple zones, bodyside reinforcements and 5-mph energy-absorbing bumpers. The hood also includes buckling creases and safety stops. The model is available in seven colours — two shades of blue, copper, white, black, silver and grey. Additionally, a new tan leather and a red or grey leather bolster/red cloth insert have been added to the interior colour selections. E Call 17 121-121.
