To learn a new language is very important and healthy. By learning another language we have more opportunities in many aspects of daily life. For example, we can help translate for other people, or in a job where our language is not spoken. In health, it helps us prevent Alzheimer's because the brain has been used more when learning another language.
What is empathy? Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Is the ability to emotionally understand what other people feel, see things from their point of view, and imagine yourself in their place. Essentially, it is putting yourself in someone else's position and feeling what they must be feeling. When another people are suffering and you go to them offer your help. We can be empathy with the people around us. Sometimes people are going through a difficult time in their lives. Let's be a little more considerate having empathy. We all need help at some point in 1ife.

My 53rd Birthday By RM
English Second Language, 2nd year I celebrated my 53rd birthday. I went to Carlsbad Caverns. I ate cake with my family. My children took many pictures. My family gave me a purse, flowers, and cake. My son gave me a sweater. My eldest daughter gave me headphones. My second oldest daughter gave me comfortable crocs. My husband gave me a purse. My coworker bought me flowers and balloons.

Some American Samoans Don't Want U.S. Citizenship By Vicky
English as a Second Language, 1st year This report is talking about a controversial issue which is "Some American Samoans Don't Want U.S. Citizenship.” Because Samoans are U.S. nationals, not citizens. So the Utah judge Clark Waddoups wants to change the rules. The new rule can make them full citizens of the U.S. through birthright citizenship. However, Samoans worry shared land ownership would end and their ancestor’s land on the islands wouldn't be allowed under U.S. laws. They also worry about having to give up their prayer curfew. That means they are going to lose their traditional culture at the same time.
English as a Second Language, 1st year want to tell you a little about something that I love to do. I like everything related to the decoration of my home. Any space, such as the kitchen, dining room, living room, children's bedroom, bathrooms, patio, ect. I'm not a person who studies decoration, but when you are passionate about something, it is done whit love. Being able to make crafts refinich or things made by myself give me grat satisfaction.

Travel My Family Vacation to Florida By Eric
Basic Literacy, 3rd year t started at the Albuquerque Sunport. We boarded Southwest Airlines on the way to Denver first where we had a layover on our way to Florida. We landed in Orlando. When we got to the airport, we picked up our car rental which was a 2019 Dodge minivan. Then we drove to Kissimmee where we had rented a beautiful house in a gated community with a clubhouse with a game room and community pool. But the house we rented had a pool and hot tub and they converted the garage into a game room with a pool table, foosball and arcade games which we played and enjoyed. This was our first day in Florida. On the second day, we drove from Kissimmee to Daytona beach. We collected seashells on the beach and enjoyed the day. That night we went to a seafood restaurant called Riptide where I enjoyed my favorite meal, surf and turf. And it was so good. The next day we went to a swapmeet. I bought a couple of hats and two switchblades. Then we went sightseeing. Florida is very green and beautiful. The fourth day we drove around Orlando Florida. We shopped at the outlets and bought shoes and clothes. We finished the night eating Chinese food. Then we went home and relaxed. The fifth day we went to Universal Studios Orlando. It was fun. The year before we went to Universal Studios Hollywood. It seemed like the Florida park had the same rides as the California park. One of the Florida park rides was the Ratatouille Adventure. We waited three hours in line to find out that the ride was having mechanical issues, so we abandoned the line and went elsewhere. We bought fast passes and hopper passes so we could ride a lot of rides. One of the rides was Transformers and it was impressive because of the modern technology and 4D animation that makes you feel like you are in the movie. On the sixth day we went to Disneyworld. It was called Magic Kingdom. One of the rides was the Star Wars Adventure. We waited in line for four hours, but they could not get the ride working. I suggested to my wife that we just call it a day and go eat. We went to Golden Corral and had a good meal including my favorite steak and shrimp. The next day we went to the Holocaust Museum. It was very interesting and heartbreaking. I was sad to see so much death. It was unreal and so inhumane. The atrocities that took place were committed by such an evil dictator who tried to genocide the Jewish people. Florida was very enjoyable, but nevertheless we were happy to get back to our own beds in our own home. It was a great family vacation.

Falling Snow By JM
Basic Literacy, 1st year Winter has always been my favorite time of year, and the best part of winter is snow. I can't help but feel calm, peaceful, and in awe of the beautiful way snow transforms a landscape. As I watch the snow slowly fall all around me, I instinctively hold out my hands to catch it. As it hits my hand I smile with delight! The crisp winter air invigorates me, so I don't fight the urge to twirl excitedly. The feeling continues to become pure childlike joy and a sense of safety. Falling snow has become my respite. A minivacation I can go to anytime. I just, imagine falling snowflakes surrounding me, and I can escape the busy, hectic day I'm having, if just for one moment.

Beautiful Mexico City I came from where the bronze race where the eagle perched on a nopal devoting a snake. I came from where the great tenostillan city was born on water. It's buildings, streets, ports, churches, squires, unique monuments are historical architecture. I came from where their markets are full of beautiful and happy people, who with their families contrast with the colors of fruits, vegetables, flowers of different colors. On the other hand, there are many varieties of foods such as traditional Napoles salad, tacos, sopas, thacoyos, quesadillas, etc. I come from where people are friendly, helpful, loving, and caring. Where they would take off their shirts for a friend, where friends are considered part of the family. I came from a country where economic differences do not matter. I come from the most beautiful and largest city of the world where an Angel of imposing height watches the city together with Diana the Huntress.

Coming to America By Rosa
English as a Second Language, 3rd year Hello my name is Rosa I from Juarez Chihuahua. l am married to Gustavo and Have five childrens, and my story is about when we decided to come to Albuquerque. We came with a tourist visa. me and my children and husband so we did not suffer much. but then I had to work and left my children alone, I had nothing. only the apartment we slept in the folder I began to collect mattresses and furniture that I saw lying on the street sadly I looked at my children helping my pick them up then we bought a cell phone an a car a tu an living room and so little by little we got ahead and now we are very well thanks to the efforts of my husband and children and mine to already 18 years here in usa and we are very happy.

My New Life in the USA My name is Alicia. In 1991 I emigrated from my country, Mexico for a better opportunity. In my country it was not possible for me. I arrived with my children to fulfill our dreams to improve intellectually and economically. At my arrival we had to face first of all how to learn English and trying to find a job. It was difficult due to job discrimination. Even today I continue to face discrimination. However this does not stop me from realizing my dreams and goals. Today as a Grandmother of two granddaughters I am excited to have more members in the family despite of being a member of a large family myself. I am a 65 year old woman with many goals and dreams. Although I have faced many challenges-one of them my accident (due to this I am unable to complete many tasks) my dreams will not end. One of them is speaking English correctly with the help of Mrs. Eva. I believe that I will achieve it.

English as a Second Language, 4th year I grew up in a beautiful small town, with so many trees and lots of mountains. One of the things that I remember is when I arrived to this country it was how different the land and weather was. The land of My Country is fertile. The other thing I remember is how my house was so beautiful like a paradise. It was surrounded by so many fruit trees that made lots of fruits like Tangerines, Pomegranates, Cirguelas, Bananas etc. The days were sunny and bright. I was able to enjoy the weather, the people, and everything was around of me. Actually, I never knew what winter was until I arrived to this country.

Conscience of Restaurant Waste To Be Free By Alejandro
English as a Second Language, 1st year I would like to be free, I would like to float, I would like to be a bird and fly with my wings, Fly too high, fly too far of all people and their complexes. Go wherever you wont without passports or documents and enjoy great places and beautiful moments.

English as a Second Language, 1st year In my opinion, it is very important to not generate waste for the environment because this affects our health. Many of the restaurants don't have a conscience about what is harmful to society. There are a few restaurants and companies that have zero waste and have joined everybody to do something for the communities, to have a better environment. Some restaurants use plastic bottles for drinks, straws and table utensils. They throw food into garbage cans, and they make a lot of waste. The restaurants give food to go in a foam container, which is very harmful to the ground and dangerous like the plastic bag. Plastic bottles take a long time to disintegrate. Everybody should have the conscience to recycle and all the waste that they throw in her place. The restaurants and companies if they don't have a composting machine should have to join all food to give to the farms that supply fruit and vegetables.
But I am not a bird, but a simple human and I have to live and suffer on this worldly ground
