Professor of English Mary WeaksBaxter has been awarded the Andrew H. Sherratt Professorship endowed chair by the Board of Trustees. She has served for several years as the Hazel Koch Professor of English. This is a non-renewable appointment for a faculty member with a proven record of scholarly productivity, teaching excellence, and a record of academic leadership. Dr. Weaks-Baxter’s appointment continues through the 2018–2019 Academic Year. Professor of Political Science and Department Chair Jules Gleicher attended the University of Chicago Alumni Weekend on June 3–4, 2016, and participated in the following: “Software and Hardware Systems Research toward Practical Quantum Computing”
